An RRSP and a TFSA aren't a retirement plan. We build the roadmap: how much, into which accounts, and how it turns back into income when you stop.
For our generation, “retirement” really means financial independence: the point where work becomes a choice. Getting there isn’t about maxing whatever account you opened first. It’s about knowing the target number, the savings rate that reaches it, and the account order that gets you there with the least tax.
That’s the roadmap we build. It has real numbers in it, and we track progress against it every time we meet.
Accumulating is the easy half. The harder questions show up later: which account do you draw from first, how do you sequence personal versus corporate assets, and how do you keep the tax bill from undoing decades of good saving?
We plan the withdrawal order from the start. For incorporated clients, that includes structures like IPPs and RCAs where they genuinely fit, and a sequencing plan that coordinates corporate and personal assets instead of treating them as separate piles.
It's the opposite: time is the most valuable asset you have, and it only compounds if the savings are pointed in the right direction. The earlier the roadmap exists, the smaller the required sacrifice.
They're retirement structures for incorporated business owners and very high earners that can shelter more than an RRSP allows. Most people don't need one. If you do, the savings are significant, and we'll model it before recommending anything.
